Highland Creations was founded by Shawn Hooper in 1987 after his dad gave him his “15 minute intro lesson to photography”.  Shawn began photographing anything he could, from people to landscapes.  In his quest for knowledge he began photographing seemingly simple things, like the side of a car, with a twist.  He would change the aperture and shoot again…and again.  (The lab first thought this was odd…but came to like him, later to the point of hiring him.)  Since these interesting beginnings Shawn has grown Highland Creations into a company which not only is a published photography company, but also, after training at one of the premier arts schools in the country, is a Lighting Designer and consultant for regional theatres.  This extra training lends itself to not only understanding the “traditional” photograph, but aids greatly when alternative methods or results are desired.
